First Week at the MTC!
Hey everybody!! My first week here at the MTC is officially done!! It's kinda weird. I feel like a lot of things have happened while I have been here but at the same time I feel the exact opposite and feel like nothing has happened. I know right, that makes zero sense hahah.
The first three days here were crazy! We had a super packed schedule that we had no idea about until we got to the MTC. Literally right as we walked in we got told about like ten new things that weren't on our schedule and it was kinda chaotic, especially cause me and my district had no idea what half of the stuff was. But I have such a good district!!! We all get along so so well! We have one kid that didn't live in Utah and he is my companion, Elder sweeney. Me and him relate to so many things it's like lowkey kinda creepy. Like we knew a lot about each other before we got here because of home MTC and everything but when we got here we realized that we use the same shampoo and body wash even. WHACK!
We do a lot of focusing on learning the first five lessons while we are in class and since I started learning and reading in preach my gospel, me and my district have asked ourselves many many times why we have never been taught through preach my gospel. The ways it teaches are so simple and make it so easy to understand. We do this teaching practice thing where we have to teach one lesson in under two and a half minutes and let me tell ya that is a tough one for me hahah! But I have gotten so much better at doing it as well, I don't remember the last time I learned so much in such a short amount of time. If you are reading this and haven't read through preach my gospel I highly recommend doing it!!
On the second Elder Sweeney got a big surprise and was called as district leader!! He seemed pretty shocked but I knew he was going to do great! We help people in our district a lot and I feel like that is another reason why we get along with our district so well. There is a kid from PG that is in my district as well and his name is Scotty Cloward! I didn't really know him before but me and him go lift when we have free time and we have become super close! My whole district loves to play basketball as well! Major blessing right there hahah! But the first day we all played as a district and I don't think I missed so they all gave the nickname elder buckets.
I got to see a couple of my good friends here as well throughout the week! I got to see Spencer Mclendon, Levi Boggess and Luke Tucker!! It was awesome seeing them and getting to talk to them about their experience here at the MTC. There is also two kids that are in my branch that I used to play basketball against in junior high at club tournaments. I used to hate them cause I hated there team but we are all homies now so it's pretty much chillin now!
I miss you all so much and hope to hear from anyone!! If you get this email feel free to email me whenever and I will do my best to get back to you as soon as possible!
Thanks for coming to my ted talk,
-Elder Buckets;)
