Hey everyone this last week has been absolutely CRAZY, to say the least holy. We did so much service and did two training visits and then we had a zone conference right in the middle of all of it! Crazy week hahah! We will start on Tuesday when we had training visits with our zone leaders and I got paired with Elder Dittmar and let me tell ya this guy is awesome! He was in Panama when everything shut down and then didn't come back out on a mission until about 3 months ago and he thinks he wants to stay in Ohio instead of going back to Panama. But we will see what happens. I hope he is able to stay because he is so funny and such a good missionary! He and I were able to go and teach some new people and while I was with him he kinda just threw me into the fire which honestly may have been the best thing for me cause I went out of my comfort zone and taught a lot more than I have so far in the mission and it made me learn that teaching lessons and being bold isn't really as bad as I thought.
The next day we had a zone conference and I freaking loved my first one so much!! We talked about Lehi's vision the whole time and really focused on sticking tight to the iron rod and never letting go. I have always kinda overlooked the lesson that we can learn from the first vision but going to this zone conference made me realize how important of a lesson it really is. As we stick close to the rod we will be blessed and even though we may fall away from the rod we can always find a way back to it. We are never completely lost. We did a little activity where they literally had a rod set up and we all had blindfolds on and everything around us was just loud chaos and we had to listen for a bell and follow that noise. It was so quiet I could barely hear it hahah! But it really brought to my eyes how blessed I am for being able to grow up in the church. Because it showed me what my life would be like without the gospel. Just chaos, straight chaos, and I wouldn't have a knowledge that things happen for a reason or that somebody else had been through the same situation. So that was an awesome day and they gave us this bomb Amish food. Oh my gosh, it was so good I can't wait to get that again.
Thursday wasn't super eventful but we met with brother Ryan again. The guy that owns part of a PGA golf course basically. We had dinner with him and that is always fun. Then we went and helped Terry for about thirty minutes and boy do I have a story about him but that is for later. After that, we went to meet with our new friend Kimball in plain city. We went and the first thing he said to us was, "sorry guys I am not going to become a Mormon." But my comp stayed persistent and he ended up talking to us for a while and we both bore our testimony about the peace and happiness that the book of Mormon has brought to both of us and he paused for a second ran inside his house and I and Elder Jessen looked at each other all confused. He came back out with a new world translation of the bible and was like is this the book of Mormon and we kinda giggled and said no. Then we went and got a book of Mormon from our car and gave it to him and now all we can do is hope and pray he opens it and reads it.
Friday was another awesome day! We had training visits with some other elders and I was paired with Elder Bowler this time who just got his visa so he leaves for Panama in like two weeks which is pretty exciting for him!! We didn't do a whole ton that day but we had an awesome lesson with this lady named Gloria! This has by far been my favorite and probably best part of my mission so far! The spirit was so strong during that lesson and I just got into a groove with the spirit and it was so cool. Teaching with and through the spirit is a real thing for all of those wondering. I talked with Elder Bowler after and told him that I didn't remember what we even talked about because it wasn't me talking to that lady it was the spirit talking to her. Really a really cool experience and I can't wait to have more of them!
Holy crap now I finally get to tell you about what happened with Terry! Man, I love this guy but sometimes the things he does just doesn't make sense, and lowkey he gets on me and Elder Jessen's nerves sometimes but we still love him so much and can't wait for the day that he actually lets us teach him! But on Saturday we had to go and help him move like three couches out of his house. So we moved the first couch and we got out of the house and I felt like something was crawling on my leg but I wasn't worried cause it wasn't anything big so I just waited until we put the couch down. Once we put it down I looked down at my leg and there was a bunch of black dots that I had no clue what they were so I just brushed them off and was kinda just weirded out and we just went and grabbed the next couch. We grabbed that couch and the same thing happened. There was a bunch of black things on my legs. Then Terry saw me brushing them off my leg and he said this, "Oh ya I forgot to tell you guys. I have a flea infestation in my house." I just started thinking how do you forget to say something like that. So we hurried and moved the last couch and had to hurry and wash all of our clothes and shower as fast as we could so that we could make sure none of the fleas were alive in our house.
But that is what happened in my crazy week in Dublin! A couple of y'all emailed me and I was so happy to hear from you guys! Please email me, you guys! I love hearing from you all! Also sorry for making this one super long I promise this won't keep happening hahah!
